From Wall Street to Wharton, he carved out a name for himself in the world of private equity. Now, he's applying the same investment principles to philanthropy and fatherhood in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Matt Magan is the co-founder of Ten Oaks Group, a private equity firm specializing in corporate divestitures. Outside of work, Matt focuses on philanthropy and his growing family. He met his wife, Elizabeth, in New York City, and they now reside in Charlotte, North Carolina with their two children (and a third on the way).
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Maryland. Later, he received an MBA from Wharton, specializing in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management. After college, Magan began his career as an investment banking analyst at Wachovia Securities. He later became a principal at Summit Park before co-founding Ten Oaks in 2020. Under Magan's leadership, Ten Oaks Group has invested in over 20 companies. Ten Oaks is building a great reputation for its investment acumen and ability to turn around struggling companies.
Personally, Matt is deeply committed to giving back and actively supports numerous causes in Charlotte and beyond. He founded Ten Oaks Philanthropic Fund, which supports family services, education, career development, and entrepreneurship for high-opportunity people in the Charlotte community.
Magan wants to be remembered as a world-class investor and an even better human being.
